Les Fougères, Chelsea, QC

With an unfettered embrace of natural ingredients, chefs and co-owners Jennifer Warren-Part and Charles Part approach their line of take-home meals, condiments and desserts with the same quality, integrity and taste we’ve come to expect from their award-winning restaurant. As part of their all-natural retail line, they showcase more than 10 savoury and sweet maple-infused products, including a cassoulet, a duck tourtière, a maple grainy mustard vinaigrette and maple balsamic pork sausages. For the unadulterated maple lover, we recommend the chômeur pudding with real maple syrup. Once commonly known as unemployment pudding, it was traditionally made during tough financial times using syrup people would make themselves and other kitchen staples. The maple syrup is poured over the cake batter so the two infuse while baking, leaving an extra indulgent pool of maple syrup in the bottom of the pan.
