Why We Love It: Located in the heart of Ottawa, the Byward Market is a bustling hub of activity. It was established in 1826 by Lt-Col. John By who is more well-known for building the Rideau Canal. Today, this market is among several flourishing businesses and is an epicenter for tourists and locals alike and boasts 260 stands to browse.

Hours & Season: Agri-food vendors are there daily 7am to 6pm, May to October. Art and craft vendors usually operate from mid-May to mid-September and start at 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.
