Meatings Barbecue
Meatings began in 2012 from a cherished tradition. What started as annual backyard barbecues hosted by Mat Flosse's Dad inspired him to turn his passion for good food and great times into something bigger. Recognizing his community's growing appetite for outdoor events, he sold his truck, bought a pig roaster, and launched Meatings.
Flosse's big break came when Beau’s Brewery asked him to cater their wedding. Lacking experience in crafting a full wedding menu, he leaned on family: his dad handled the meat, and his grandparents prepared the sides and salads. The event was a success.
Fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit, Flosse teamed up with family friend Carol Hunt. Together, they opened their first restaurant in January 2017. A year later, they expanded to a second location with a catering kitchen. They worked tirelessly, catering over 100 events in one summer, earning awards, and feeding the community.
As demand grew, they expanded again in 2020, consolidating their restaurant, catering kitchen, and offices into one location—Meatings HQ.
From day one, supporting their community has been their priority. They sponsor local hockey teams, donate to food banks, and collaborate with local businesses.
