In 2012, Service Ontario threatened to revoke the restaurant's name over concern the public would confuse it for a labour union, but thanks to public outcry, and a little help from a lawyer, Union Local 613 was allowed to keep its name.
Beyond skin — the ecclectic artwork of local artist, Julian Garner, of Five Cents Tattoo Shop — adorns the walls of the restaurant.
