With Executive Chef Brent McAllister of AquaTerra, Dennis the Prescott creates a dinner that is gorgeous, mouth-watering, irresistible, edgy yet familiar, and delicious in the extreme.

Instagram celebrity, food blogger, and chef Dennis Prescott joins Kingston WritersFest to present a flavour forward dining experience. A former touring musician, Dennis quit the road and taught himself to cook using library copies of Jamie Oliver. He not only learned to create food that’s full of flavour and plenty of panache, but also channeled his creativity into a new-found passion for food photography. With Executive Chef Brent McAllister of AquaTerra, Dennis creates a dinner that is gorgeous, mouth-watering, irresistible, edgy yet familiar, and delicious in the extreme.

More about Dennis the Prescott:

“Dennis The Prescott produces the kind of food photography that you want to print, frame, and hang on your wall.” —InStyle Magazine

Five years ago, Dennis was a musician who didn’t know how to cook. After cooking his way through a few Jamie Oliver books, he realised that food, not music, was his passion and he threw himself into not just creating delicious recipes but styling and photographing them in a way that will leave you drooling. Now, in just three years, Dennis has amassed a devoted following of more than 300,000 people on Instagram, and writes a weekly column for Food & Wine Magazine/FWx.

Eat Delicious: 125 Recipes for Your Daily Dose of Awesome is his first cookbook, which he describes as “a cross of internationally influenced comfort food recipes with heavy influence from my Maritime, Eastern Canadian surroundings, ingredients, and dishes. I wanted my first book to read like the cookbooks that really inspired me early on in my culinary journey. Recipes that are attainable, relatable, delicious, and beautiful.” It also offers a helpful guide to food photography 101, to help foodies show off their delicious creations.
