Algonquin College will be hosting a very special luncheon with New York City author and social entrepreneur Leanne Brown as a fundraiser for the Algonquin Food Cupboard.

Leanne Brown is the author of Good and Cheap: Eat Well on $4/Day. Leanne, a Canadian studying food studies in New York, launched an inspiring Kickstarter campaign to print a small batch of cookbooks for those on food stamps. The campaign was looking for just $10,000, but went viral and raised $144,681. The resulting cookbook has now been downloaded for free over 900,000 times and the second print edition was just released in the fall and is a New York Times Best Seller.
