Diane Sullivan Arabesque Pottery

Diane Sullivan has been working full time in clay for 30 years.
In 1994 Diane graduated with a Masters of Fine Art in Ceramic Art from the University of Washington in Seattle, having done her undergraduate on the other coast at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (1992). Originally from Ontario, she decided to settle in Alberta after school having been invited to do a residency at the Banff Centre for Fine Arts.
Calgary was a nice quiet pre-boomtown then with a welcoming arts community and affordable living and studio space for an artist. There she began her pottery line, Arabesque Pottery; a line of ornately decorated porcelain serving ware. While marketing this line through North America by way of wholesale, retail and consignment sales, Diane successfully pursued an international exhibition career of larger palace pots and sculptures. Diane has been the fortunate recipient of numerous grants and awards over the years for her work, partaken in many artist residencies and has presented at a long list of conferences and workshops. Her work is in many private and public collections, including that of our Canadian government.
In 2008, growing disenchanted with the then boom time life out west, she returned to Ontario, purchasing her dream building in Williamsburg, where she currently slings the mud in her dedicated studio/gallery/home.
