Alpaca Farm in Prince Edward County.

Drawn to the bucolic fields and vast waterfront vistas of Lake Ontario in Prince Edward County, the folks at Shed Chetwyn Farms settled on a small farm property of 55 acres just outside the village of Wellington. The farm named Chetwyn Farms (Welsh for “little cottage on twisted road”) has been their home for over ten years. Combining their interest in sustainable farming, concern for animal welfare (alpaca are never harmed to harvest fleece) – and their love for the hand-made process they settled on the exquisite and elegant alpaca.

With backgrounds in design, fashion and retail, they ventured into this new lifestyle, learning how to raise alpaca, produce the finest fleece, process small-run yarn and create or curate a collection of alpaca products. The farm and studio-shop (a converted chicken coop) is now a popular destination in the County and their collaborations with designers, makers and artisans allow them to explore and create all of the product on offer.
