In the spirit of resiliency, reconciliation and education the Smith Falls District Collegiate Institute (SFDCI) and the students of the Indigenous Studies Program and our Indigenous youth are hosting the second annual Pow Wow on Turtle Island in the Town of Smiths Falls.

Two traditional food vendors, Commanda Catering from Maniwaki, QC and Adriana’s Den will be serving traditionally influenced dishes such as: Awazibi (Kitigan Zibi Maple Syrup), Moose Soup,  Moose wraps, Bison, Corn soup and Indian tacos.

In addition, Smiths Falls & District Collegiate Institute hospitality program is preparing a bison roast for the Powwow First Nations drummers and dancers as part of the traditional Feast.
