Tourism LondonWebsiteLondon, Ontario's culinary landscape is a thrilling adventure for foodies, where every bite tells a delicious story. The range of styles and culinary offerings reflect London’s rich cultural diversity and shared desire for quality food experiences. The landmark restaurants and indie cafés distinguish themselves with ethnic authenticity and tradition, with an emphasis on using Southwestern Ontario’s regional flavours and ingredients. The restaurant scene has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, with a growing array of award-winning establishments and celebrated chefs earning accolades for their contributions to the city's culinary renaissance. By embracing both local and international flavors, from Thai and Italian to Indian and African, London's dining establishments reflect its culturally diverse population. There’s also delicious vegan and vegetarian options for all to enjoy. In addition to London’s decorated restaurants, local innovators are developing culinary experiences that transcend the standard 3-course dinner. Yaya's Kitchen, a curated supper club, is an award-winning embodiment of this movement. Co-owner Malvin Wright encourages diners to "not just eat the food, but taste it", as Yaya's masterfully crafts 7-10 courses, each packed with storytelling flavours of the global black food experience. Other culinary journeys include “Ride the Bine” and the “OEV Dumpling Trail”. The first being a tour winding through breweries, wineries and other local beverage havens, promising a sip of the region's finest libations. The latter is a self-guided, 7-stop tour through London's Old East Village, where you can savor dumplings from around the world, from Polish pierogis to Nepali Momos, each with their own distinctive style. London can boast having two outstanding community markets, the daily Covent Garden Market and The Market at Western Fair District on Saturdays and Sundays. There are other great seasonal markets as well, and of course, one of the best seasonal producer-only farmers’ markets in Ontario is at the Covent Garden Market, outdoors on Thursdays and Saturdays. The local craft beer movement continues to flourish, bringing new flavours and innovation, with customers that are loyal to not only the product offerings, but the brewers themselves. These forward-thinking craft breweries are creating meaningful and lasting on-site experiences between brands and consumers, proven by the increased popularity of tap rooms offering beer tastings, flights, games and community interaction. When London celebrates food, they celebrate it big. Each year an ever-expanding list of cultural food festivals brings together visitors from across Ontario and beyond. The newly introduced Lucky Lion Night Market is an Asian food celebration with over 100 unique items to try, while celebrations like the International Food Festival covers tastes from around the globe. Covent Garden Market is especially alive in the summer with a nonstop lineup of flavourful festivals such as Taco Fest, Pizza Fest, the Colombian Gastronomy Festival and the recent fan favourite, Jerk Fest. Whether you’re interested in attending one of the iconic food festivals, shopping at one of the specialty food shops or farmers’ markets or just want to explore the unique food and drink scene, we hope you’ll enjoy the vast choice of food-focused options, offering a taste of London. Vineyards & Wineries
Thirty Bench Wine MakersWebsiteBeing tucked beneath the Escarpment offers our vineyards a longer season that allow grapes more time to ripen and cooler nights that help intensify flavours. The grapes they grow on their beautiful little piece of the Beamsville Bench tend to steal the show. That’s why all Thirty Bench wines are made exclusively with grapes from their own vineyards. The vines are meticulously hand cropped and thinned to produce very low yields that offer exceptional quality and an intensity of fruit that sets their wines apart. The less-is-more approach at Thirty Bench extends far beyond the vineyard. Their commitment to “Small Lot” winemaking means many of their wines are made in extremely limited numbers. How small? Check the label of their Small Lot wines and you’ll see the exact number of cases that were made for that vintage. It’s often a number so small that these cases disappear quickly. Fortunately, Thirty Bench wine lovers don’t seem to mind. As passionate Small Lot enthusiasts, they’ve discovered that the wines that are the hardest to find are also the hardest to forget. |
Vieni Estates Wine and SpiritsWebsiteThe founder of Vieni Estates brings his passion for wine from Italy and combines it with his love for this distinctly Canadian wine region, and particularly the unique attributes of the rolling hills of the Vinemount Ridge. Master winemaker Mauro Salvador takes the best of the many varietals grown on the estate to produce a broad and compelling range of still wines, ice wines and sparkling wines crafted in the Charmat method (Metodo Italiano). Each offering is crafted to reflect the best of the terroir, the varietal, and the winemaker's skills. In addition to the many fine wines produced here, Vieni Estates also offers traditional Italian-style grappas and spirits distilled from the many fruits of Ontario. Immerse yourself further in the Vieni experience by staying at the beautifully updated Bed & Breakfast, where every room has a stunning view of the vineyards and 30 acres of protected forest along the Niagara Escarpment. |
Windrush Estate WineryWebsiteIn 2017, J.C. Pennie and Marilyn Field, MSM, established Windrush Estate Winery in the emerging wine region of Hockley Hills, an hour northwest of Toronto. J.C. and Marilyn’s vision for their winery came from their lifetime experiences as international visionaries. With time, they realized that life’s finest moments are borne of beauty, integrity, kindness and excellence. Windrush Estate Winery is built on their passion for sharing these experiences with you. Inspired by world travel, the winery is named after the beautiful Windrush River valley in the Cotswolds. With its 68 acres of amazing views, unique chateau and state-of-the-art winery, Canada’s Windrush incorporates natural beauty, fine arts and great VQA wines to provide a unique winery experience. The VQA wines are created with a focus on quality by Chief Winemaker Jonathan Boyle, and legendary Vintner Jim Warren. |

Udderly Ridiculous Goat's Milk Ice Cream & Udderly Ridiculous Farm LifeWebsiteUdderly Ridiculous Goat Milk Ice Cream believes in high-quality ingredients, in building relationships with suppliers and in honouring the labour of love that goes into every part of this process. Which is why they're also learning that it takes a community to create ice cream this good. Making ice cream this way is definitely more work but they believe it’s well worth the effort. Greg and Cheryl Haskett launched Udderly Ridiculous Goat Milk Ice Cream in spring 2019, inspired by the goats on their 200-acre, third-generation family farm in Oxford County, Ontario. Udderly Ridiculous Goat Milk Ice Cream is available in six sophisticated flavours at a growing number of retailers in Ontario. It all began in 2015 while writing a business plan to expand and modernize their 3rd generation family farm. As the plan unfolded a larger vision emerged. How could the farm become more than a primary producer of raw ingredients? How could they give back to the community? Since Greg had always wanted to have a product from the farm, and Cheryl loved to cook discussions began – lots of people were venturing into cheese-making with the popularity of goat cheeses, and of course there were the soaps – however, they really wanted to bring something different, fun and something very few people were doing – Goat Milk Ice Cream. As many businesses experienced the pandemic presented a challenge for a small new brand when there were no events, sampling or ways to interact with consumers. Udderly couldn't go to consumers so they provided what many were asking for - allowing consumers to visit the farm and engage not only with the ice cream but with goats, alpacas and in depth experiences around agriculture and food. They launched Udderly Ridiculous Farm Life July 2021 and have already won awards for their work taking home Innovator of the Year from Southwest Ontario Tourism. |

Upper Canada Cheese CompanyWebsiteAs artisan cheesemakers, Upper Canada Cheese Company prides itself in making cheese by hand in small batches and are committed to the tradition of the cheesemaker’s art. Unlike large-scale cheese producers, they do not standardize their cheesemaking milk. Instead, they rely on seasonality and terroir. By doing so, the milk they use is transformed into cheese of unique taste and texture that reveals a subtle range of flavours influenced by the seasons, forage and feed. Each wheel of Upper Canada cheese is produced by hand, ensuring genuine care and quality, but also resulting in cheeses that are more complex in taste. Their Retail Boutique and Creamery is located in the small village of Jordan Station, in the heart of the Niagara wine region. Alongside their cheese, they also offer a carefully curated selection of local Niagara gourmet products including chocolates, bagels, jams, honey and more. Top Shelf PreservesWebsiteSara Pishva has always loved sour, tart, and tangy flavours. Candy, fruit, and deeply vinegary pickles were among her favourite things as a kid. Once Sara got into home canning in her 20s she realised she had a knack for coaxing bold flavours out of fruits and vegetables. She cooked her way through pubs and fine dining restaurants to support herself, looking for a place in the culinary scene. Eventually it dawned on her that she would have to carve her own path. With the encouragement and help of friends and family Sara got deep into pickling and preserving and founded Top Shelf Preserves in 2013. She quickly developed a line of bold pickles, jams, marmalades and preserves that customers would seek out at markets and local retailers. Sara discovered she had capacities beyond cooking and learned that she enjoyed the challenges and fast pace of running a small business. Fast forward to 2021 and she's still pursing that perfectly balanced sweet/tart target. She still gets to flex her culinary skills and apply her experience to growing her business. |

Sugarhouses & Maple Syrup
Vanier Sugar ShackWebsiteLess than 5 km from downtown Ottawa, the Vanier Sugar Shack is the only operating sugar shack in an urban setting in North America. Located in a 17.5-acre sugar bush in the heart of the nation’s capital, the Vanier Museopark keeps the tradition of maple syrup production alive, traditions established in Vanier by the White Fathers circa 1940. They are proud to offer quality food from local producers in an enchanting setting where old-time charm blends with modernity. This is what you will experience at the new Vanier Sugar Shack. History of the Richelieu Park Sugar Shack Built in 1939 by the White Fathers of Africa, the original shack served to ensure a certain self-sufficiency for the group. In the early 1960s, they modernized their facility by building a second, more spacious sugar shack on the same site. The White Fathers left Vanier in 1976 and the production of maple syrup ceased at the same time in Richelieu Park. In the mid-1980s, the City of Vanier installed its City Hall in the buildings of Richelieu Park. The mayor at the time, Gisèle Lalonde, had the idea of reviving the sugaring parties to bring the community together and celebrate maple syrup artisanship, a French Canadian tradition. About ten years later, the group Action Vanier took over the organization of the Sugar Festival and the management of the sugar shack. A third sugar shack was built by a host of volunteers and inaugurated in 1998. Action Vanier upholds the sugaring tradition in Vanier until the winter of 2011. Since the 2012 sugar season, it is the Vanier Museopark who is responsible for perpetuating this tradition. In August 2020, the Vanier Sugar Shack was destroyed due to arson. From that moment on, the community rallied together, already discussing its reconstruction. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on December 3, 2021, and the inauguration of the new sugar shack was held on March 28, 2023. The 2023 Sugar Shack is the fourth sugar shack on the White Fathers’ domain. It remains the only urban sugar shack in North America. Built in the heart of a dense 17.5-acre maple forest with over 500 taps, the Vanier Sugar Shack produces approximately 500 litres of maple syrup each sugar season.

Restaurants, Vineyards & Wineries
Waupoos Estates WineryWebsiteLocated on a stunning 100 acre waterfront property, Waupoos Estates Winery was the first winery in Prince Edward County. The vineyards were first planted in 1993 with an experimental mindset to see what would grow in this area. As the vines continued to thrive, more varieties were planted – Waupoos now has 20 acres of established vineyards growing 18 different varieties. Our wines have placed in national and international wine competitions, with the medal count growing annually. The wine cellar and retail store were built from the ground up. The building is rich in limestone (hand picked from a quarry in Kingston ON) and officially opened in 2001. Here you can sample our award winning wines, purchase wine and wine-related gifts and don’t forget to visit the chocolate and gelato store. As the estate matured over time, they built a beautiful restaurant by the water, nestled amongst the vineyards. Their restaurant’s focus is farm to table; they grow produce and raise proteins on the farm to offer the freshest ingredients whenever possible.
